ST. LOUIS, MO — Will Postlethwaite, PGA, captured the 2026 Gateway PGA Assistant Championship Tuesday at Norwood Hills Country Club, finishing at 2-under-par 140 over 36 holes to claim the championship.
Postlethwaite established himself as the player to beat during the opening round, carding a 3-under-par 69 to take the early lead. His round included a key eagle on the par-5 16th hole, helping him put together a strong start to the championship.
He followed his opening-round 69 with a 1-over-par 71 in the second round, finishing at 2-under 140 for the tournament and securing a four-stroke victory.
Chris Ferris, PGA, finished runner-up at 2-over-par 144 after posting consecutive rounds of 72. Ferris remained within striking distance throughout the championship but ultimately finished four shots behind Postlethwaite.
Connor Thrower, PGA, finished third at 5-over-par 147 after rounds of 75 and 72. Morgan Brasser, PGA, placed fourth at 7-over-par 149, while Jackson Wetherbee, PGA, rounded out the top five at 9-over-par 151.
Postlethwaite’s opening-round 69, highlighted by the eagle on No. 16, proved to be a crucial part of his championship performance. After maintaining his lead with a steady second-round 71, he finished four shots clear of the field to take home the 2026 Gateway PGA Assistant Championship.
