Ty Zimmerman won the 2018 Gateway PGA Professional Championship at WingHaven Country Club and automatically advanced to the 52nd PGA Professional Championship on April 28-May 1, 2019 at Belfair in Bluffton, South Carolina.

Zimmerman shot a 1-under 71 on Monday and a 3-under 69 on Tuesday that was highlighted by an eagle on the par-5 16th hole.

“Throughout the day, I played pretty solid,” Ty Zimmerman said. “It wasn’t until 16, when I hit the driver, and had 195(yards) left and hit a 5 iron into the green, just long and chipped in for eagle. That was probably the one that sealed it right there.”

Joining Ty in South Carolina next Spring will be Dan Olsen (72-71–143), Bryan McMurray (71-72–143) and Rob Sedorcek (71-71–143). All automatically advance to the 52nd PGA Professional Championship by finishing in the top-4 of the two-day tournament.

The alternates are Grant Masson (72-74-146), Jimmy Bals (73-74-147) and Ryan Roy (75-72-47).
