Gateway National Golf Links hosted a Stroke Play event that featured strong performances across all divisions and an unforgettable playoff in the Super Senior Division.

In the Regular Division, Grant Masson, PGA posted a 1-under-par 70 to finish atop the leaderboard. Masson’s steady round was the only under-par score in the division and earned him the victory.

The Senior Division produced a similar result, with Steve Hausmann carding a 1-under-par 70 to claim first place. Hausmann’s consistent play throughout the day helped him secure the top spot in the division.

The most dramatic finish came in the Super Senior Division, where Michael Tucker, PGA, Jeff Whitfield, PGA, Bobby Pavelonis, PGA, and Garth Bayer, PGA all finished regulation play tied at 1-over-par 72.

A playoff was needed to determine a winner, and after the first three holes, only Tucker and Whitfield remained. The pair continued to battle through a total of six playoff holes in one of the longest and most exciting finishes of the season.

On the fifth playoff hole, Whitfield faced a difficult lie in a bunker but managed to get up and down before draining a remarkable 25-foot putt to extend the playoff. His clutch performance kept the contest alive and set up one final hole between the two competitors.

The playoff concluded on the sixth hole, a par 5, where Tucker secured the victory with a par to edge Whitfield after a hard-fought battle.
