The Gateway PGA Section and the PGA REACH Gateway Foundation are very proud
to announce that our Executive Director, Ali Wells, PGA, recently received an award
of great honor.

On Friday, May 6 th , Ali was inducted into the inaugural PGA Golf Management Hall of
Fame Class at the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs.  She was one of only
three alumni chosen, as well as being the only woman of this prestigious group.
The PGA Golf Management Program (PGM) at the University of Colorado-Colorado
Springs is part of the Business School.  Completing the PGM Program fulfills the
education program required to become a PGA Professional.
Ali received her Bachelor of Science in Business Marketing, Class of 2009,
graduating Magna Cum Lade. Her class was just the second class of the PGM
Program at the university.  While in college, Ali also passed her Players Abilities Test
(PAT).

During college Ali worked at “green grass” facilities in Colorado Springs and South
Dakota.  After college, she moved to Florida and spent three years as a golf
instructor at the PGA Center for Learning and Performance.  In 2012, Ali was hired
to be the Director of Operations for the PGA REACH Gateway Foundation; then in
January 2018, Ali was hired as the Executive Director of both the Gateway PGA
Section and the PGA REACH Gateway Foundation.

Upon winning this award, Ali expressed how proud she was to have been inducted
into the Hall of Fame of her alma mater. Her studies and degree from the University
of Colorado-Colorado Springs set her on a career path from “green grass” to the
association management side of the golf industry, which she feels has been and
continues to be truly special. The PGM Program has proven to be the foundation of
her career and her passion for the game of golf.
