Mike Suhre wins second consecutive Stroke Play event with 5-under-par 66 at Persimmon Woods
Mike Suhre carded a 66 at Persimmon Woods Golf Club to win Stroke Play #4, clinching his second win of the season and back-to-back Stroke Play wins.
“I had a good day, good playing partners out there today and it always feels good to make a few birdies,” Suhre said.
Overall, he collected six birdies and 11 pars to pull away from the pack and win by two strokes.
“I was on the last hole and I was thinking ‘hey at Spencer T. (Olin) I bogeyed the last hole, so let’s bogey the last hole, and I par’d it,” Suhre said.
David Levine also shot 5-under-par 66, tying Suhre’s score, but was only entered in the Senior and Super-Senior Diviosn. Levine swept both divisions while Suhre won the Regular Division.
Kevin Triefenbach finished two strokes back of Suhre, good for second place in the Regular Division with a 3-under-par 68.
