The 2026 Gateway PGA Professional Championship concluded Tuesday at Persimmon Woods Golf Club after two days of competition, with the Gateway Section’s top PGA Professionals competing for the opportunity to advance to the National PGA Professional Championship.
Steven Hausmann, PGA, captured the 2026 Gateway PGA Professional Championship title with a two-day total of 2-under-par 140. After opening with an even-par 72 on Monday, Hausmann closed with a 4-under-par 68 on Tuesday to secure the championship and earn one of three qualifying spots into the National PGA Professional Championship.
Finishing in a tie for second at 1-under-par 141 were Matt Gindler, PGA, and Bob Gaus, PGA. Gindler carded rounds of 70-71, while Gaus followed an opening-round 68 with a 73 on Tuesday. Both secured their places in the National PGA Professional Championship alongside Hausmann.
David Mueller, PGA, finished fourth at even-par 142 after rounds of 68 and 74 to earn first alternate honors.
Two players tied for fifth at 1-over-par 143. Nash Haxel, PGA, posted rounds of 73-70 to earn second alternate, while Jeff Whitfield, PGA, recorded rounds of 70-73 to finish as third alternate.
With the championship complete, Hausmann, Gindler, and Gaus will represent the Gateway PGA Section at the National PGA Professional Championship. Mueller, Haxel, and Whitfield will serve as the first, second, and third alternates, respectively, should a qualifying position become available.
