Matt Gindler, PGA, put together a dominant two-day performance to win the 2026 Gateway PGA Senior Professional Championship at The Country Club of St. Albans on Monday and Tuesday.
Gindler opened the championship with a 64 and followed it with a 69 to finish at 10-under-par 133, earning a three-shot victory over Jeff Whitfield, PGA. His opening-round 64 gave him an early lead, and he continued to separate himself from the field with a steady second round to claim the Senior Professional Championship title.
Whitfield finished runner-up at 7-under-par 136 after rounds of 65 and 71. Bryan McMurray, PGA, placed third at 2-under-par 141, carding rounds of 69 and 72.
Steven Hausmann, PGA, made a significant move during Tuesday’s final round. After opening with a 74, Hausmann fired a 68 to finish at 1-under-par 142 and move into fourth place.
Bob Gaus, PGA, finished fifth at 2-over-par 145 after rounds of 74 and 71. Gaus then faced Grant Masson, PGA, in a playoff to determine the first alternate position for the National Senior PGA Professional Championship. Gaus prevailed in the playoff to earn the first alternate spot.
The top finishers earned qualifying positions for the National Senior PGA Professional Championship, while Gaus’ playoff victory secured him the first alternate position.
Gindler’s impressive 10-under-par total capped off two days of outstanding golf at The Country Club of St. Albans and secured his place as the 2026 Gateway PGA Senior Professional Champion.
