The Gateway PGA Assistant Championship took place on Monday, September 8, at Persimmon Woods Golf Club, where competitors battled for both the championship title and coveted qualifying spots. Dan Frost (Lake of the Woods) continued his dominant play, securing back-to-back tournament victories with a stellar performance. Frost posted matching rounds of 69 (-2), finishing the event at -4 under to claim the top spot.

Alongside Frost’s win, the championship also determined two qualifiers. Will Postlethwaite (Norwood Hills CC) earned his spot with rounds of 76 and 70, finishing +4 over to take the first qualifying position. Cory Cowsert (Merrimack Lakes GC) secured the second spot with rounds of 73 and 77, finishing +8 over through two rounds. Both players showed determination in navigating a challenging Persimmon Woods setup, earning their way forward. With Frost’s consecutive victories and Postlethwaite and Cowsert qualifying, the event highlighted great play and competition throughout the day.
