PGA REACH Gateway Foundation has been selected as a beneficiary of the 2023 Cardinals 5K presented by Bally Sports Midwest.
The annual race, scheduled for Saturday, April 22 at 8:30 am, will start and end at Busch Stadium in downtown St. Louis and loop through the city streets. This year’s race will celebrate Cardinals Hall of Fame shortstop Ozzie Smith and his contributions to the St. Louis community. Smith, who serves as Foundation President, selected PGA REACH Gateway Foundation as one of two beneficiary organizations of the event.
Registration is now underway, and Cardinals fans have a choice of participating in-person or virtually. All participants will receive an exclusive St. Louis Cardinals long sleeved t-shirt and a commemorative Ozzie Smith themed medallion. Participants who contact the PGA REACH Gateway office will also receive an additional Foundation t-shirt while supplies last.
The course will start on 8th Street adjacent to the Stan Musial Statue at Busch Stadium, and finish on Clark Street between Ballpark Village and Busch Stadium. Afterward, participants will have the opportunity to take a victory lap on the Busch Stadium warning track and enjoy a post-race celebration on the Busch II infield at Ballpark Village.
“I care deeply about supporting St. Louis area kids,” said Smith. “As a passionate golfer, I am inspired by the work PGA REACH Gateway Foundation does to help kids throughout the St. Louis community.”
