MERCHANDISER OF THE YEAR-PRIVATE: Brian Schmersahl
The Private Merchandiser of the Year in the Gateway PGA for 2019 is Brian Schmersahl, PGA. The Merchandiser of the Year Award is designed to recognize those Gateway PGA Professionals who have excelled as business persons/merchandisers in the promotion of golf. The PGA honors PGA Professionals in three categories: Private, Public and Resort facilities. Brian has been the Head Golf Professional at The Legends Country Club since 2014. Brian was recognized by the Gateway PGA in 2011 as the Horton Smith Award Winner and has supported the Section each of the past five seasons with numerous player-development programs and member events. He was born and raised in Missouri where he attended St. Dominic High School and studied at Missouri Valley College and the University of Missouri – St. Louis. Brian was elected to the PGA Membership in 2009 and hopes to achieve certification in numerous programs in the coming season. When not working, Brian looks to spend time with his wife of 15 years, Molly and their three daughters Olivia, Isabel and Adalynn.
