The Robert A. Shogren Cup returns April 19–20, 2026, bringing together the top amateur and professional golfers in the St. Louis region for a highly anticipated team competition at Greenbriar Hills Country Club.

Hosted in partnership by the Metropolitan Amateur Golf Association and the Gateway PGA, the annual matches honor the legacy of Robert A. “Bob” Shogren, a passionate ambassador for the game who played a key role in connecting amateur and professional golf across the region.

A Unique Team Format

Modeled after the Ryder Cup, the Shogren Cup pits elite amateurs against top Gateway PGA professionals in a two-day match play showdown. Players earn their spots through Player of the Year standings, with captains’ picks rounding out each roster.

The format features a mix of matches designed to test both individual skill and team chemistry, creating a competitive atmosphere that rewards strategy as much as performance.
