Thomas Pool joined the Gateway PGA Section and PGA REACH Gateway Foundation in July 2022 after spending the last eight years in college athletics. From September 2014 through this past July he served as the Director of Athletic Communications at American International College (NCAA Division II) in Springfield, Massachusetts. While at AIC he oversaw the communications and marketing strategies for 26 programs, including a Division I men’s ice hockey program.
During his time at AIC he increased web traffic by over 20%, saw viewership increase over 40% in live streaming and grew social media by 46%. Additionally he spearheaded many projects and strategies to highlight the stories of the department’s 600+ student-athletes.
Thomas graduated from Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky in 2014 with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. During his time with the Racers he served as team manager for five seasons, including three and half seasons as head manager. Thomas is a St. Louis native and currently resides in Wildwood, Mo. with his wife Kristen and their cat Grayson. When he isn’t in the office you can find him smoking brisket or trying to figure out how to hit his drive straight consistently.
Thomas will handle all marketing, communications, and branding for the section and REACH Foundation. We are excited to welcome him to the team and to the Gateway PGA family.
