The Gateway PGA Section hosted the Pro-Pro 27 hole event at Forest Hills Country Club on Monday, April 17. Matt Swanson (Forest Hills Country Club) and David Mueller (Meadowbrook Country Club) walked away with the hardware with a score of 91 (-11), five strokes better than second place.
The 27 hole saw a different format on each nine hole stretch. Each team played a best ball, scramble and alternate shot format.
Swanson and Mueller’s best format of the day was scramble where they logged a 29 (-7). The only holes they did not birdie were the first and third holes of the nine. In the alternate shot the pair wrote a 26 (-4) that included birdies on one, two, four and seven. Rounding out their card was the best ball format where the squad finished even with a score of 36.
Finishing in second was the pairing of Adam Betz and Blake Sharamitaro (Family Golf & Learning Center) with an overall score of 96 (-6). The pair finished the alternate shot nine hole format with a 27 (-3), a scramble score of 34 (-2) and best ball tally of 35 (-1).
The Section would like to thank Forest Hills Country Club as well as Jimmy Bals, James Tierney, Nicholas Jones, and Matt Swanson for hosting the tournament.
