The shortest distance Gateway PGA event of the year, the Par 3 Tournament, took place at Oak Brook Golf Course on Monday, July 10. Rob Sedorcek (Family Golf & Learning Center) took home the trophy with a score of 48 (-6). The shot of the day was provided by Gideon Smith who finished one stroke back of the title. Smith stood on the tee box of the fifth hole and watched his shot roll into the hole, the only hole-in-one of the event.
Starting on hole 13, Sedorcek sat one-under after 10 holes. He went back-to-back birdies on five and six as he started to warm up. He added birdies on eight and 10. Entering his last hole there was a five-way tie for first. Sedorcek threw a dart onto the green and tapped in for birdie to take the top spot.
