Precious Jackson, the Gateway PGA Section’s 7th PGA WOKRS Fellow, was selected to attend the PGA WORKS Activations at the 2024 PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky. Her week was filled with remarkable experiences and unique opportunities. Every year, PGA WORKS hosts Beyond the Green activations at PGA Championships to inspire, engage, and connect talent from diverse backgrounds so they can pursue key employment positions in the golf industry. Read below to learn about Precious’ week in Louisville representing the Gateway PGA:

“On Sunday, we had the amazing opportunity to go to the infamous Churchill Downs. We watched races at the finish line suite, had dinner with the PGA HOPE Veterans from other sections, and heard from Direct TV, PGA HOPE’s new sponsor.

On Monday, during the Secretary’s Cup, I was a standard bearer for Team Georgia. It was great getting to know Veterans from another section and seeing the camaraderie and community they built with each other and their families.

On Tuesday, we attended Beyond the Green, hosted by PGA WORKS. This event introduces youth from diverse backgrounds to golf. The kids took away a lot and left with connections and inspiration for the future.

On Sunday, I had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to represent the PGA WORKS Fellowship at the PGA Championship trophy ceremony.”
