The Assistants’ Association hosted its annual Pro Am fundraiser at Sunset Country Club on Monday, May 19. The Algonquin Golf Club team, led by PGA Professional and Assistants Association President Zane Roberts, emerged victorious in Flight. Family Golf & Learning Center, led by Adam Betz, PGA took home Flight 2 honors. The Pro Am Shamble took the two best balls of four, including 50% of handicaps.
In addition to Roberts, the Algonquin team featuring Jamie Froedge, Jeff Remming, and Hunter Legear, shot an impressive combined score of 25-under, narrowly defeating the home Sunset Country Club team of Andrew Jang, Dylan Holdenried, Joe Sharamitaro, and Tim Banks, by three strokes. Their score included 2 natural eagles from Hunter Legear, and another from Jeff Remming. In total, they shot under par in 13 of their 18 holes.
Adam Betz, PGA led the way with teammates Craig Betz, David Betz, and Patrick O’Neil. The foursome delivered a remarkable performance with a score of 22-under par. Their round started strong on Hole 4, and despite encountering some bogeys on the back nine, they finished strong to clinch the win. Their scoring included an eagle from Adam Betz on Hole 8, a lengthy 520-yard par five.
