Shawn Barnes, PGA

Shawn Barnes is the PGA General Manager & Director of Golf at Gateway National Golf Links. Shawn is the current Chairman of the Professional Development Committee and served 14 years on the Gateway PGA Board of Directors as Metropolitan St. Louis Director. Originally from Carterville, Illinois, Shawn has 36 years’ experience in the golf industry. Before serving in his current position Shawn worked at several clubs including Old Warson Country Club and he is the only Golf Professional to have worked at all 3 of the 36-hole Private Clubs in the area: The Country Club of St. Albans, Norwood Hills CC and Whitmoor CC. Shawn has been selected as the GPGA Public Course Merchandiser of the Year four times and was the GPGA Assistant of the Year in 1994. In April 2018 he joined the Quarter Century Club as a PGA Member.

Nathan Charnes, PGA | Secretary, PGA of America

Nathan Charnes, PGA of WingHaven Country Club was elected Secretary of the Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA) of America on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at the 106th PGA Annual Meeting in Phoenix, Arizona. Charnes becomes the first PGA Member in the history of the Gateway Section to be elected to National Office and will eventually serve as the Association’s 45th President in 2027 and 2028. The Evansville, Indiana native joined the Gateway PGA Section in 2004 upon his arrival at WingHaven where he led as the Golf Professional. In 2012 he was elevated to General Manager, the role that he currently holds. Charnes started his leadership with the Gateway PGA Section in 2010 when he was elected to the Board of Directors, which coincided with his appointment to the National PGA Membership Committee. He continued his ascension in the Section as Vice President for 2013-14 and President from 2015-16.

Scott Kmiec

Scott Kmiec serves as the PGA of America’s Senior Director of Career Services, the organization’s largest department. Kmiec and two Regional Directors oversee a field staff of 18 Career Consultants providing resources and support to golf industry employers and professionals. He has been a PGA of America employee since 2013, starting as the Association’s first PGA REACH, Senior Director responsible for supervision of the PGA’s charitable foundation. Kmiec oversaw the programming, funding and strategic direction of the Foundation and its three key pillars; YOUTH, MILITARY, and DIVERSITY/INCLUSION until taking on his current role in Career Services in September of 2016.

Cary Cavitt, PGA

Since 1975 Cary has personally served over 100,000 customers. During these years he has observed and learned what truly brings customers back.

Cary’s zeal to find out what customers want has been his driving passion in building a successful career as a PGA Golf Professional. After receiving a B.A. at the University of Michigan and an M.A. at Eastern Michigan University, Cary then went on to receive his PGA Membership and become an award-winning Head Golf Professional at various clubs in the Midwest before founding Service Starts With a Smile Seminars.

​​Cary's expertise is in the area of customer service. Having authored eight books, Cary has an experienced understanding of how to win the customer and exceed his or her expectations.

As founder of Service Starts with a Smile Seminars, Cary travels throughout the United States speaking to various organizations on the key to winning more customers.

Jacque Madison, PGA

Jacque Madison, PGA is a 20+ year golf industry veteran with experience as a Head Golf Professional, Association Administrator, Championship Director, Teaching Professional, and Assistant Golf Professional before becoming a Career Consultant for the PGA of America. She played college golf at Kansas State University, and is a Midwest PGA Award winner and former Women's Section Champion. A St.Louis-area native, she now resides in the Kansas City area with her family.

Will Robins, PGA

Will Robins, PGA, is helping to revolutionize golf instruction worldwide by helping golf professionals guarantee results to their players. Will owns and operates WRGolf Coaching based in Folsom, CA and is the CEO of Robins Golf Logistix (RGX), a consulting company that mentors instructors in implementing coaching programs. Will and the RGX Team focus on training coaches how to implement coaching programs that speed up results and guarantees results for their students while doubling their teaching / coaching revenue.
