2019 Drive, Chip & Putt Year-In-Review
The Gateway PGA REACH Foundation hosted 7 Drive, Chip & Putt local qualifiers and a Sub-Regional at Old Hickory Golf Club on August 8th. Throughout the summer, about 800 juniors competed in the 2019 Gateway PGA Drive, Chip & Putt season.
Drive, Chip & Putt is a nationwide junior golf development competition aimed to grow the game and provide opportunities for all juniors to enjoy the game. Drive, Chip & Putt is open to juniors age 7-15 and is free of cost to all juniors. Participants who advance through local, sub-regional and regional qualifying in each age/gender category earn a place in the National Finals, which is conducted at Augusta National Golf Club the Sunday before the Masters Tournament and is broadcast live by the Golf Channel.
Out of the 2019 Drive, Chip & Putt Season, 16 juniors advanced to the Drive, Chip & Putt Regional Qualifier at Colorado Golf Club on September 8th in Parker, Colorado. Of the 16, Gateway PGA junior golfer, Lydia Boles, won the 7-9 Girls division with a score of 102, and qualified for the Drive, Chip & Putt National Finals this Spring. She will represent the Gateway PGA Section at the 2020 Drive, Chip & Putt National Championship on April 5, 2020 at Augusta National Golf Club.
