Best Buy Teen Tech Center Officially Opens
On February 28th, the Best Buy Teen Tech Center officially opened as Gateway PGA REACH President Ozzie Smith and other supporters spoke at the Boys & Girls Club on North Grand. As we continue to make an impact on students in the N. St. Louis area, Gateway PGA REACH has put significant resources into building the Best Buy Teen Tech Center. The space is designed to serve as an outlet to learn about and work with some of the best technology.
The Gateway PGA REACH Foundation was proud to be heavily involved with the project and the opportunity to provide technology to not only Boys and Girls Club students, but also students in our other partner locations such as Urban K Life which is centrally located next to the Herbert Hoover Boys and Girls Club.
The Teen Tech Center is fully equipped with the latest state of the art technology for students to fill idle time and enjoy. Inside the center you will find a music studio, 3D printer, t-shirt press maker, coding station, virtual reality headsets and much more. The Boys and Girls Club is also adding curriculum that will introduce students and provide education needed in order to learn how to make technology part of their everyday life.
By 2020, 60 Best Buy Teen Tech Centers across the U.S., Canada and Mexico will enable nearly 20,000 teens annually to experience technology through year-round, after-school programs.
