2014 Women's Golf Day Re-Cap
About 150 ladies attended the Gateway PGA Women’s Golf Day on Sunday, June 1 at the Quarry at Crystal Springs in Maryland Heights, MO. The 150 that attended were real troopers! Two separate rain storms that had temporarily halted progress didn’t get in their way.
Area PGA and LPGA Professionals support this event in such strong numbers every year. This year 21 PGA and LPGA Professionals volunteered their afternoon to offer instruction in the areas of putting, chipping, pitching, and full swing, some traveling from as far as the Lake of the Ozarks (over two hours away) to participate.
Starting at 3 pm, ladies were split into groups based on their stated ability range (beginner, recreational, or experienced) and rotated throughout three instructional areas: putting, short game, and full swing. Following the two hours of instruction, a free happy hour was offered with local cash-and-carry vendors, socializing, and prize/drawing giveaways.
